COVID-19-Update:8-April-2022

Encouraging all to return for physical service and meetings

We strongly encourage all to return for physical/hybrid Sunday Services and meetings for fully vaccinated members of the English Congregation with the further easing of community safe management measures (SMMs) from 29 March 2022.

Jesus’ incarnation moves us to return back to church to worship him physically

  • Jesus willingly came down to earth in bodily form to live with us and die for us (Matt 1;23, Phil (Matthew 1:23, Phil 2:5-8, John 1:14, 1 John 1:1-4)
  • We are moved to return back to church enjoy the privilege of worshipping him physically as a united body in Him (Rom 12:1)

We prefer to conduct our worship services and ministry meetings on a physical basis as it is a biblical imperative

  • Scripture teaches us to appreciate the simple joy of meeting each other face to face regularly and experiencing fellowship together again (Acts 2:46-47, 1 John 1:1-3, 2 John 12, 3 John 13-14, 1 Thess 2:17-18).

We are Christ’s body (Romans 12:4-5) with different gifts and roles, some of which are better exercised physically

  • We each have different spiritual gifts and roles that are essential to the healthy functioning of this body (Rom 12, 1 Cor 12)
  • We exercise some of these roles better when we all meet together physically to encourage one another (Heb 10:24-25).
  • We are to carry out our works of service on a physical basis if and when it’s more helpful and relevant, so that the body of Christ may continue to be built up in unity and grow to maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:13).

We recognize the practical benefits of using digital platforms to supplement physical services and meetings when required

  • We will continue to have a digital hybrid services to supplement physical services and ministry meetings for the immediate future
  • We will leverage technology to complement physical meetings to increase flexibility and effectiveness as appropriate

As we transition to the endemic phase, we recognize the need to be cautious, but would also warn against being fearful.

  • We continue to rely on the Lord to lead us and protect us (Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 43:1, 2 Tim 1:7, Psalm 18:2, Psalm 94:19)

Please ask God to guide you and for the Spirit to search your hearts as you decide whether to return to physical church services

  • We realize that it is up to individual members to make their own decisions with regards to physical attendance,
  • We ask that you pray earnestly to God for guidance and ask the Spirit to search our hearts for the true motivations behind our decisions to return or not. (Psalm 139:23-24)

We will gradually move back to “Open Worship” Service but will retain “Led Worship” service format for the near future.

We understand and respect that physical attendance is a personal decision and welcome all who feel moved to come. We will continue to adhere to the current safety management measures for the physical services.

We certainly hope to see more of them physically in church. God Bless!
